What’s New?
No new features were added to the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport compared to the previous years. The vehicle is still available in four trims and two power configurations, including a 245 horsepower turbo engine.
Exterior
The classic Bronco is a best-seller: a large one-piece grille with two round headlamps, a flat and boxy body side and contrasting roof colour. The rear maintains the typical one-piece brake light with rectangular tail lights in the car's contour. Since no changes were made in elevation, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport still benefits from great approach and departure angles of 30.4 and 33.1 degrees.
Despite its compact size, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is a roomy SUV thanks to its safari-style roof. Speaking of safaris, the roof rack is still tent-compatible, with a load up to 150 lb. The flip-up rear is also highly convenient, further adding to this vehicle’s off-road tried and tested layout.
Interior
Once you get inside, you won’t notice the Bronco’s compact size. The vehicle has plenty of space and moderate rear leg room. The cargo space is slightly raised (the so-called safari roof) for added convenience. It also comes with a fair deal of extras, including a sliding table, overhead lighting, and a power inverter. The higher-end trims come with standard rubber mats that are incredibly easy to clean. Did we mention there’s a built-in beer bottle opener? It’s certainly a noteworthy feature.
Connectivity-wise, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport boasts an 8.0-inch touchscreen display compatible with Ford Sync 3, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. There’s also the option to upgrade the standard sound system to a high-end Bang & Olufsen.
Technology & Safety Features
The end-of-the-line trim of the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport features a twin-clutch rear drive unit that empowers the vehicle’s already incredible 4x4 capabilities. Every version comes with a HOSS – High-Performance, Off-Road Stability Suspension that helps keep the SUV ready for any terrain. There’s also a terrain selection tool called GOAT - Go Over Any Terrain, with five modes in the base versions plus an additional two in the Badlands model.
When it comes to safety, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is particularly capable, especially when you consider its price. The vehicle comes with blind-spot information, cross-traffic alert, and lane departure/keeping systems.
Trims
The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport has four trims – Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands. The former three feature minimal differences, with the main being the lack of rubberized trims in the cargo space in the base model. The Badlands model has the best off-road capabilities thanks to its improved 4x4 system and lifted suspension.
Price
The Base and the Big Bend models start at $35,399 and $38,049. The higher-end Outer Banks and Badlands models will set you back $42,099 and $42,499.
